Pomona sits in the San Gabriel Valley east of Los Angeles, a city of fairs, horses, and art. Fairplex hosts the Los Angeles County Fair, a long running celebration of agriculture, rides, and community exhibits, and the grounds also host shows and events through the year. Cal Poly Pomona brings students and the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center to town, where Arabian horses perform and train. Downtown Pomona's Arts Colony fills historic buildings with galleries, studios, and murals, and the city's citrus past still shows in old packing house architecture and street names.
