Pembroke Pines sits in Broward County in South Florida, a suburb west of Fort Lauderdale between the city and the Everglades. The city grew from farmland into one of Florida's larger suburbs, with planned neighborhoods, parks, and schools. C.B. Smith Park offers a water park, lakes, and picnic areas, and Chapel Trail Nature Center gives residents boardwalk trails through wetlands.
