Overland Park is one of the largest suburbs of Kansas City, a city of parks, trails, and tree-lined neighborhoods on the Kansas side of the metro. The Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens covers hundreds of acres with walking trails, themed gardens, and a children's discovery area. The city grew from prairie farmland into a business and family center, and its parks system, golf courses, and the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead give it a settled, outdoors feel. Downtown Overland Park keeps an older main street with shops and restaurants, a reminder of the small town the suburb grew from.
