Lynn built its name on shoes. For more than a century, factories along its streets turned out footwear for the nation, and the Lynn Museum still tells that working story. Today the city pairs that industrial past with open space: Lynn Woods Reservation, one of the largest city owned parks in the country, holds ponds, stone towers, and miles of trails, and Lynn Shore Drive runs along Nahant Bay with views across the water. High Rock Tower, a stone observatory on a hill above the city, gives the best panorama of all.
