Fullerton sits in northern Orange County with a downtown that still shows its early twentieth century roots. The Fox Fullerton Theatre, a historic movie palace on Harbor Boulevard, anchors the downtown district, and nearby streets hold restaurants, shops, and galleries in older buildings. The Fullerton Arboretum, on the California State University, Fullerton campus, covers 26 acres with plant collections, trails, and a small lake. The Muckenthaler Cultural Center, a 1920s mansion turned arts center, adds concerts and exhibitions to the city's cultural life.
